Dear Stephanie and Mr. Vanhelden: Just Markets: Hot off the Press is the only reason I subscribe to Writers Online. It would be a major disappointment to lose it. I am a full-time freelance writer and have received paying gigs from the listings in Just Markets, and I have passed it along to all of the freelancers in my address book. I also refer new writers to it in a class I teach at The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, the largest independent literary center in the country. I do hope you decide to continue publishing it.

Sincerely,
Jacquelyn B. Fletcher

I just wanted to let you know that I have landed 9 writing and editing assignments (3 are long term) from the listings you've provided...and I only signed up in late January!

I also posted an ad in craigslist for writers for a particular project; that yielded poor writing from people who responded to the craigslist ad the same day, but it yielded many really good writers the next day when you picked up the ad and included it in your newsletter. I really appreciate your services! Thanks!

Regards,
A long-time freelancer

From Elaine Schneider:

Dear Stephanie,

Just wanted you to know that I did get a job from the list. You told us about a company needing writers who were also special ed teachers. I sent my resume and got a job!

Thanks for the listings!

Stephanie,Because of receiving this daily communication, I can spend time trying to get the jobs instead of trying to find them. It would be a serious set-back to me as a writer if the service were no longer available.

Thanks for listening,
Elaine Schneider

Dear Stephanie,

I cannot say enough about the markets emails that you send. In my opinion, it is the best thing about Writer On Line. Yes, I have landed a job through the service and am negotiating on another one. It is worth every penny. In fact, I would pay more. Rather than cut the service, I would suggest you charge more! Please register my opinion so that the daily markets emails continue.

Sincerely,
Elaine Ernst Schneider

This is one of the best services I have used for markets. I've joined at least 15 other market services and haven't got the kind of information that I get with this service. I've gotten several jobs through Just Markets while the other, more popular services have produced nil. Keep up this great service. Thanks,Shelagh McNally

Hey Stephanie,

Happy to help out. I forgot to mention that you can use my quote on your website. Anything that helps. And also mention that I am happy to keep paying your rates for the service.

Thanks!

Yes, Stephanie, I did receive mine.  Thanks so much.

Your work is a lifesaver.  I started freelance Jan. 1, but was sputtering
until I came across your service.  Within a month I had work (including a
year-long contract) worth almost $5,000.

You really make a difference.

With much appreciation,

Very Happy Subscriber :-)

Good morning, Stephanie.

I hope you are not tired of hearing from me, but I wanted to tell you that yesterday I interviewed and landed another job - this is my 4th - that I read about in my Just Markets email. When I complete this fourth contract, I will have earned over $10,000 from the four jobs.

You are giving us great leads. I believe the trick to landing jobs is querying and sending resumes on a continuing basis. I follow up on at least two job leads that I find in Just Markets every week. Sometimes I hear back, and sometimes I don't, so it's important to have my resume "out there" in lots of different places. I once read a writer's advice to always have 12 queries out. I don't know the magic in twelve, but it seems to be the same idea statistically, i.e. if you want a job, you have to send lots of queries and respond to lots of job posts. The ones that do pan out make it worth the effort.

I really wanted you to know because ever since I started subscribing to JustMarkets, I have more time to FOLLOW leads instead of trying to FIND them. You've made such a difference.

Thanks again,

Elaine Schneider
